Douglas Demone
September 11, 1932 - April 2, 2017
DEMONE, Douglas Arthur “Doug”, age 84, of Dartmouth, passed away on April 2, 2017, at home.
Born in Lunenburg, he was a son of the late Walter and Blanche (Risser) DeMone.
Doug began his career at Farmers Dairy, then worked for many years as a driver with Halifax Transit, retiring in 1998. He enjoyed singing and playing his guitar and listening to old music on vinyl. He always looked forward to watching hockey and was a big fan of Sidney Crosby and the Pittsburgh Penguins. He loved making videos of scenery and time spent with his grandchildren. He loved to take trips to Lunenburg and Bridgewater and enjoyed visiting with family.
Doug is survived by his daughter Linda (Alvin) Warner; son Leon DeMone; grandchildren, Chloe and Greyson DeMone, Joseph Warner, David (Tracy) Warner, and Jonathan Warner. He is also survived by his sister Mary Oxner and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen (Fougere) in 2002; son Douglas Frederick DeMone; siblings, Evelyn, Freeman, Murray, Warren, Perry, Charles (Myrtle), and Leon.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside service to be held at 10am on Friday April 7th in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, 767 Main Street Dartmouth.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
