<div itemprop="description"> <p> Charlene Ruth (York) Slattery, 85,of Dartmouth, passed away Wednesday October 24th at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in East Millinocket, Maine on February 2nd, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Roland and Bessie York. Charlene resided for the last four years at Parkland on the Lakes, Dartmouth, NS. </p> <p> She is survived by her son, Brian (partner Linda) of Dartmouth; daughter, Susan Dorey (Steven) of Kitchener, Ontario; sisters Marjorie of New Zealand, Elaine of Oregon and Regina of California, brothers; David of Idaho; and Roland of California; grandsons: Jeremy of Vancouver, Kristen and Todd both of Kitchener; as well as several nieces and nephews, and close friend Linda Belyea of Toronto. </p> <p> Charlene was predeceased by her husband Francis. </p> <p> The family would like to thank the management and staff of Parkland at the Lakes for their kindness and attention while Charlene was a resident. </p> <p> Arrangements and cremation have taken place under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, where Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 30th from 1 to 2 PM. Funeral service will take place at 2pm at the Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel,&nbsp;interment immediately following in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. </p> <p> In Lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart &amp; Stroke Foundation or the Alzheimer Society. </p> </div>
