<div itemprop="description">PILKINGTON, Cedric Alan, age 79, of Bedford, passed away on January 28, 2017, in the Halifax Infirmary, QEII. <br>Born in England, he was a son of the late Walter and Ada Pilkington. <br>Cedric worked for many years with Fisher Scientific, and opened his own company called HF Scientific before returning to Fisher in the ’90. An avid sailor, he was the Commodore of the Nepean Sailing Club in Ottawa and more recently, was a member of the Bedford Basin Yacht Club. He was a member of the American Society for Wines, and an enthusiastic vintner who operated a Wine Art store in Dartmouth. In the last few years, he enjoyed captaining the Aye Pod, with his family and friends acting as his crew. <br>Cedric is survived by his wife, Faye (Smith); daughters Allyson McNeil, Amanda (John) Flitcroft, Melissa Pilkington; grandchildren, Tiffany, Ella and Harry; one nephew Ian Caddy. <br>He was predeceased by his sister Elaine (Ken) Caddy; niece Beverley Pepper. <br>Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life reception will be held from 2-4pm on Friday February 3rd, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth.
