<div itemprop="description">Hume, Cecil Dawson – age 71 of Halifax; passed away on March 4, 2017 at the Victoria General Hospital. <br>Born in Moncton on March 4, 1946; he was a son of the late Charles and Edith (Trefry) Hume. <br>He attended Campbellton Composite High School, graduating in 1964. He then attended UNB in Fredericton, after which he joined the Air Force where he trained as a fighter pilot. Cec spent most of his military career stationed in Germany at CFB Baden. Moving back to Canada in 1975 where he became a commercial airline pilot. He flew for various airlines including EPA, CP Airlines, Canadian and eventually retiring from Air Canada. <br>Cec enjoyed traveling whether in his motorhome, on his bike or in the air. He was a man who loved well with a personality larger than life and will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his intoxicating laugh. <br>Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Bernice Hume; daughter Marla Hume (Craig Franks); son Dawson Hume (Rachael Daye); step sons Scott and Kirby; brothers Donald (Julie) Hume and Dale (Kilby) Hume; grandchildren Samuel Franks and Lacy Hume; also by two nieces and one nephew. <br>Predeceased by his first wife Marie Hume. <br>In keeping with his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at 1pm from the Atlantic Funeral Homes, Dartmouth Chapel. <br>Donations in memory of Cec made to the Prostate Cancer Canada or the SPCA would be appreciated by his family. <br>Special thank you to all the special nurses and doctors that took such great care of Cec during his illness, your kindness will not be forgotten. <br>Online condolences may be made by visiting www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com <br></div>
