Drapeau, Amy Gisele, 15 yrs., born January 11, 2001, received her angel wings 10 minutes to 12 on December 31st, 2016 at the IWK.

She was surrounded by her family of six who managed to fit in her bed, filling her with love and support, just in time for her to join New Year’s celebrations in heaven. Amy’s final days were surrounded with love and always had a gentle hand placed on her from her supportive family, friends and Earth Angels whom Amy had touched in some way throughout her short yet memorable life.

Amy has left behind her heartbroken parents, Jean-Louis and Leanne (Bellefontaine) Drapeau; her ever attentive siblings Evan, Hayley, Cameron; and her many vigilant octopus wranglers (caregivers), second mothers, countless family and friends. Amy is now playing happily with Jessie, her beautiful lab, her grandparents Harry and Gisele (Savoie) Drapeau, Arthur and Florence (Fillis) Bellefontaine and receiving many piggy back rides from her uncles Kelvin, Stewart and Stephen.

Amy’s life would seem too short by many, but those who were touched by her, understood that the quality of our life far exceeds the quantity of time in which we live. Amy possessed great strength, determination and the ability to overcome incredible odds. With support and encouragement, Amy lived her life to the fullest! She found much enjoyment while outdoors in nature, whether it was sit skiing at Martock, paddling, swimming in the pool or laying on the grass on a warm summer day… not a flower was safe. Amy also had a love for music and books and will be missed by her constant companions at home Oliver, Ben and “Gentle” the cat.

Amy loved constant activity and often looked forward to draping herself over or climbing on top of everyone who was privileged enough to catch her eye. She loved going to school and to the many clubs and camps that welcomed her with loving arms. Amy spent her life teaching lessons of acceptance, patience and finding the good in everyone. She taught us all to think outside the box and was a constant rule breaker. Her smile was pure and radiated beauty. She taught everyone to live in the moment.

All are welcome to celebrate and remember Amy’s time with us at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St. Dartmouth for visitation on Wednesday, January 4 from 6-8pm; from where a service will take place on Thursday, January 5 at 11am with reception and stories to follow. There are no words to express our appreciation for all those who have helped our baby take the final steps on her journey. We will be forever grateful for the endless hours spent on her care and for your dedication. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ronald MacDonald house, IWK or CFC International.

Online condolences may be made by visiting www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com (Dartmouth Chapel)
