<div itemprop="description">YOUNG, Wanda Michelle, age 44 of Cole Harbour.<br />Wanda completed her journey on April 20, 2016. She fought a long, hard, battle and was an inspiration to more people than she knew. Wanda worked many years with Sobey&rsquo;s. She was a hard and dedicated worker. She also loved spending time volunteering at the SPCA.<br />Born in Halifax to Rita Doyle LaPierre, Wanda is survived by her mother Rita and step-Dad Owen LaPierre; her pride and joy, daughter Emma Young-Melanson, her loved brother Barry (Melissa) Young; fianc&eacute; Darren Axford; his sons, Spencer and Logan and Emma&rsquo;s Dad Scott.<br />She is also survived by Aunts and Uncles, Nancy, Sid, Mike, Sheila, Bill, Teresa, Jim; cousins Tracy, Steve, Chris, Mike, Troy, and Leanne; and many good friends, Carey, Terri, Suzanne, Gary and Shannon to only name a few. Wanda is also survived by her Sobey&rsquo;s family; step-sisters, Yvonne, Virginia, Roxane; and step-brother Greg.<br />She was predeceased by grandparents Mike and Beulah Doyle, and her best buddy Tucker.<br />Wanda&rsquo;s family would like to thank the nurses on 7A and 5A at the VG, and doctors Rayson, Rajarman, Horton and the Palliative Care team for all the excellent care and kindness.<br />Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held on Monday April 25 from 7-9pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 2pm on Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, Rev. James Haughn officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in the funeral home chapel. Scent-free would be appreciated.<br />Family flowers only.
