<div itemprop="description">Van Tassel, Teresa Veronica, age 88 of Halifax, passed away November 17, 2016 in Ivany Place, Bedford. <br>Born in New Waterford, she was a daughter of the late Veronica (Rice) and Michael Griffin. <br>Teresa was a hard worker in providing food service for various clubs and resorts during her lifetime. <br>She was a talented curler and played in many military leagues. She loved to listen to country music. Her greatest thrill was attending a Rita MacNeil concert where she was able to meet her in person and hear her favourite song, “The Rose”. <br>She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Van Tassel, Quebec, QC, Johanne Van Tassel, Bedford; sons, Michael (Margaret), Cole Harbor, Brian ( Barbara) , Fredericton, NB, Peter (Yasmin), Toronto, Ont; sister Carol Donaghue, Montreal, QC; 8 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. <br>Teresa was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Joseph; son-in-law Gaetan Daigle; and many siblings. <br>Cremation has taken place. Memorial mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday November 24, 2016 at St. Vincent de Paul Roman Catholic Church, 320 Flying Cloud Drive, Dartmouth. <br>Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens to take place at a later date. <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. <br>Special thanks to the staff of Ivany Place and St. Vincents Nursing Home for the kindness and loving care provided to Mom during her time there; and to Marjorie Newberry for the wonderful care and attention she gave to Teresa for many years. <br> <br></div>
