<div itemprop="description">Kubelka, Marilyn Margaret, Cole Harbour<br>It is with a great sense of loss that we mourn the death of our beloved Marilyn after a devastating and aggressive battle with ovarian cancer. She died on September 19, 2016, one day shy of her 63rd birthday. Now at rest, she suffered a painful demise valiantly. <br>She was the daughter of Kathleen and Rene Joliat, both deceased, of Ottawa.<br>Marilyn is survived by husband, John; daughter, Rosita; and son, Juan; sister, Elizabeth (Tom) Sprysa of Ottawa; brother-in-law Ron (Linda) Kubelka of Cornwall, Ontario, as well as several nieces and nephews. Mourning also are close friends Phyllis and Dyrald Cross, Kitty and Ron Colpitts, Donna and Doug Peverill, Kim Aseltine and Rene McDonald. She also leaves behind previous in-laws Shirley and Muriel Miller, Marla and Winnie Fraser. <br>Marilyn was predeceased by her first husband Winston Miller and brothers David and Robert.<br>In her earlier years, Marilyn worked at Federal Customs and Excise in Ottawa and Halifax. Over the past quarter of a century, she has been a faithful and dedicated wife and housewife attending to our two adopted children from Guatemala. She loved spending time with her two Cairn terriers, Toto and Maya and immensely enjoyed the time spent at our cottage on Molega Lake where she delighted in gardening and swimming. Marilyn was a member of TOPS.<br>Visitation will take place on Thursday, Sept. 22 2-4 pm and 6-8pm and Liturgy of the Word Service will be officiated by Father Irek Bem on Friday Sept 23 at 2pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth with a reception to follow. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens.<br>In lieu of flowers, donations may to made to the Ovarian Cancer Canada or Hope for Wildlife.<br>We wish to thank surgeons, Dr. Jim Bentley and Dr. Rob Grimshaw and their team, the VON and the Palliative Care teams for all their efforts and compassion.
