<div itemprop="description">Hazel Retina Robinson (Uhlman), age 104 years of Dartmouth. Passed away on a Sunday morning February 12, 2017, surrounded by family and friends. Born February 25, 1912 in Campertown, Lunenburg County, she was a daughter of the late James and Rosetta (Wamboldt) Uhlman. Family was very important to Hazel. She was a great Mother and Grandmother and loved to bake her homemade bread and pies for them to enjoy when visiting. She enjoyed card games with friends, especially Scat! She had an infectious laugh and could often be found giggling and finding humour in everyday life. She was devoted to her faith, and was always grateful for even the smallest of blessings. As a young teen, Hazel was left to care for her younger sister, Ethel after their mother died. She worked for a Doctors family for their room and board. She learned to sew to make their clothing. Her sewing talent transpired into later working at Mount St Vincent University, the Tartan House in Halifax as well as sewing for many people over the years. Her kindness and generosity for others was shown in many ways, from knitting and sewing for children who she saw going to school without proper clothing to giving whatever she could to whoever needed it. Even when she herself had very little at times. Her charity and kindness was loved and respected by all who knew her. Hazel is survived by her 3 sons and 2 Daughters; Roseanne Borden (Gordie) of Dartmouth, Roy Robinson of Middleton, Bernard Robinson of Oshawa, Ontario, Mary Bell of Victoria, BC, and Gordon Robinson(Donna) of Nicholsville. As well as her 23 Grandchildren, 36 Great Grandchildren and 18 Great Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest and sons, Cecil and Jackie. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Thursday, February 16 in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral Mass is 9am Friday, February 17 in St. Thomas More, Father Okafor officiating. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Homes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the C.N.I.B.
