<div itemprop="description">THOMAS (Williams), Gladys Viola, 94 of East Preston passed away on Sunday March 13th 2016 in Northwood Centre.<br />Born in East Preston, she was a daughter of the late Sarah and Percy Williams.<br />Gladys was a member of the East Preston United Baptist Church for her whole life. She worked for many years at the VG Hospital. She loved children and was a Charter Board Member of the East Preston Daycare Centre. She was also a member of the 100th Branch of East Preston Community Red Cross.<br />She is survived by her sons, Joseph (Madeline), Leon, Robert (Lisa), Rod (Melissa); 20 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. <br />She is also survived by her brothers, Johnny and Percy Williams, several nieces and nephews and chosen son Mark Kane (Nancy); godchildren Kenton Slawter, Floyd Kane, Devon Slawter. <br />Gladys was predeceased by her husband Fred; daughter Viola Williams; sisters Stella, Hazel, Sarah, and Mary and godchild Anita Brooks.<br />Visitation will be held from 7-8pm on Wednesday March 16 in East Preston United Baptist Church, 206 Upper Partridge River Road. The funeral service will take place at 1pm on Thursday March 17 in the East Preston United Baptist Church, Rev. Dr. Joyce Ross (associate minister) officiating. Burial to take place in the church cemetery.<br />In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the East Preston United Baptist Church Building for God fund.<br />Special thanks to the caregivers of 2nd floor, Northwood Centre and special friend Louise Brooks who spent a lot of time with her.<br />Online condolences may be made by visiting the Dartmouth Chapel at www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com<br /></div>
