Born in Pointe-de-l’Eglise, NS she was the daughter of Hector and Jeanne Thibault.
That smile! It could light up a room. Ginette touched the lives of all around her. She had the greatest ability to bring calm and perspective to a situation. She was an old soul. A devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister and nurse, Ginette lived life to the fullest. A talented neuroscience researcher, Ginette completed her studies at McGill university in Montreal and moved back home to Nova Scotia with her husband Tim in 2002 and established a career in neuroscience research. She set a great example for her daughters, Sophie and Ella, teaching them that happiness is a choice and service to others is the highest calling in life. Ginette led with her quiet example.
She was a proud Acadian that never forgot her roots to Clare and was happiest at the camp or a hike in le petit bois or a walk in her parent’s apple orchard in Pointe-de-l’Eglise. Ginette took the time to enjoy the simple pleasures of life and brought happiness and joy to all she encountered. Respected by her friends and colleagues, Ginette was a strong, independent, talented woman that was a joy to work with. She was a person that you went to for advice. But you’ll be hearing from me baby, long after I’m gone. I’ll be speaking to you softly from a window in the Tower of Song.”
-Leonard Cohen
