<div itemprop="description">Georgette Diab (Chedrawe) <br> <br>Georgette Diab was born in Hadeth El Joubbeh, Lebanon on December 19, 1930. She was predeceased by her parents Assad and Lupita. She came from a large family and was predeceased by her brothers: Tannous, Chedrawe, Joseph, Akel “Charlie”, Elias, and her sisters Kultoom, Mary, and Linda and her grandson Danny. <br> <br>Georgette is survived by her beloved husband, Daniel Diab. She is also survived by her sister Soraya (Australia), her sons, Fouad (Melkie) (South Africa), Joseph (Violet), Peter (Louise), Paul (Katia), and Tony (Jumana); 13 grand-children and 6 great-grandchildren. <br> <br>Georgette, Daniel, and their sons immigrated to Halifax, Nova Scotia in 1976 where they settled in and raised their family. Not only did she raise her family but she helped care for and raise all her grand-children, who loved her dearly and she adored. She instilled in all of them her values of; love, togetherness, and faith. <br> <br>She lived a simple but rich and full life. She was a devoted Maronite Catholic; her faith and belief in God and the power of prayer never wavered. She could always be found praying the rosary out loud and asking Jesus to send his blessing to those around her. Georgette was the matriarch of the family, and everyone who knew and loved her called her “Um Fouad”. <br> <br>Georgette was always happy with a smile on her face, and always shared a kind word with everyone. She had a unique talent of turning simple phrases into a rhyme as she would sing the praises of her children, grand-children, brothers, sisters, and their families. <br> <br>Her uplifting presence and glowing spirit will be forever missed but not forgotten. Georgette is now in Heaven with her family but she will always live in our hearts and memories. <br> <br>Visitation will be held from 7-9pm on Wednesday February 22 and from 6-9pm on Thursday February 24th in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. <br>The funeral service will take place at 11am on Friday February 24 in Our Lady of Lebanon Parish, 3844 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax, Father Pierre Azzi officiating. Burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lower Sackville.
