<div itemprop="description">Mills-Clements (Clyke), Francis Rebecca age 90, of Dartmouth, passed away on February 22, 2017 in The Birches, Musquodoboit Harbour. <br> <br>Born in Truro, she was a daughter of the late James and Hazel (Byard) Clyke. <br> <br> Francis was a Deacon at the Inglewood United Baptist Church and an active volunteer with the Kidney Foundation. She served as President of the AUBA Women’s Institute and was a member of various other church organizations. A town councillor for many years, she also served as Deputy Mayor of Bridgetown for two terms. Upon retirement, a fund was established in her name to provide bursaries for African Nova Scotian women pursuing post-secondary education. <br> <br>Francis is survived by her daughter Susan Mills-Downey; grandchildren Myah Downey-Epps, Kevin (Sarah) Downey Jr., Malerie McIntyre; great-grandchildren, Priya Downey-Epps, Nathaniel Downey, Kevin “Jalen” Downey-Fader; Asha Olivia Thomas and many nieces and nephews. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her first husband Albert Arthur Mills; second husband Roy Clements; siblings Olive Jackson; brothers Gerald, Roman, John, Wilfred “Dennie”, Robert “Phil” and Leslie “Les”. <br> <br>Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Tuesday February 28 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St, Dartmouth. The funeral service will take place at 2pm on Wednesday March 1st in the funeral home chapel, Rev. Lennett Anderson officiating.
