Bosch, Earle James Fredrick “James”, 39, shed off his mortal coil surrounded by loving family at Dartmouth General Hospital on January 21, 2017. He has headed off on a great adventure with his boy, Thor, where we cannot follow. Not yet.
He is survived by beloved wife, Sandra (MacEachern); mother, Shelly Noseworthy; step-father, Robert; father Earle Bosch; step-mother, Cathy; grandmother, Elizabeth Cummings; brother Terry Bosch; sister, Jacklynn Bosch; half-brother, Justin Bosch; half-sister, Jennifer (Adam) Hennessy; step-brothers, Ronnie (Paula) Julian, Cory Keizer; best bud, Matthew Cochran; his favourite in-laws, Sandy and Evelyn MacEachern; brothers-in-law, Roger (Jennifer) and Keith MacEachern, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, including special niece and Godchild, Stephanie Bosch.
He is predeceased by grandfathers, Hugh Cummings and Fredrick Bosch, and grandmother, Elsie Bosch.
He was born in Halifax, NS, on February 8, 1977, and spent his youth in the north end of Dartmouth. He often spoke fondly of days walking and biking the streets and paths of Dartmouth with his friends. He cherished his days as a Little Brother in the Big Brother Big Sister organization with Big Brother Mike O'Keefe which evolved into a lifelong friendship that included Sheila Broughm and Jordan O'Keefe. Mike and James also received an award for being the first "double match" with a Big-Middle-Little in Canada.
James graduated from NSCC and started his career as a carpenter. He learned his craft on the south shore while living in Bridgewater, then moved back to Halifax after meeting the love of his life, Sandra. He started working maintenance at Killam Properties, then TransGlobe Property Management and quickly learned a little about everything to truly become Mr. Fixit. He finally found his work-home and an extended family at Oakwood Terrace. His love of Oakwood and its staff led him into the role of President of CUPE local 2774, a role he took very seriously yet tempered with his usual goofy sense of humour and level head.
James was not just talented with tools. His gift with music was well known by those who knew him best. James would often ask if he should bring his guitar to any gathering of friends, it didn't matter if three or thirty people were gathering. He so enjoyed playing for a group, especially if he could get someone to sing along. He was always creating new riffs and playing with chords. One such riff found its way to the ear of his sister-in-law, Jennifer, who worked with James to create a song, Love is the Light. In this way, a bit of James' music has made its way out into the wider world, beyond his group of friends.
Special thanks to Dr. Kelvin Young and the caring oncology team at the NS Cancer Centre, the staff of 4 East, Dartmouth General Hospital, in particular, Ruth Burns, LPN, and Dr. Brenna vanTol, and the VON and Palliative Care teams. You made a hard journey a little easier.
Visitation will be held Thursday, January 26, 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St, Dartmouth. Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home chapel, Friday, January 27, 2 pm. Rev. David Watt officiating. Cremation has taken place. Interment at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Halifax, Lupus Canada or Melanoma Network of Canada. Online condolences can be made at www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com. (Dartmouth Chapel)
