<div itemprop="description">RICHARD (Morrisey), Carol Ann Dorothy, age 65, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 26, 2017, after a brief illness with cancer. <br>Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of Catherine (Graham) and the late Gerald Morrisey, of Dartmouth. <br>Carol Ann began her working career as a clerk in a pharmacy in Tufts Cove area, Dartmouth. She had a 35 year plus career as an optician in both Nova Scotia and New Brunswick, starting at Imperial Optical in Moncton, NB. Most recently, she was manager of the Dartmouth, Luxotica Store, Sears Optical on Portland Street. <br>She met her husband Reg in Fredericton at a family wedding. They married and began their family in Fredericton and later moved to Moncton and finally returned to Dartmouth with their children. <br>She was very dearly loved by her husband and children, as well as her family members and friends. <br>Carol Ann is survived by her husband Reginald “Reg” Richard; children Timothy Richard (Krissy McLean) and Kathleen Richard (Kale Boucher), both of Dartmouth; her mother Catherine Morrisey; brothers Patrick (Susan), Saint John, NB, and Ben (Sally), The Phillipines, sister Kimberley (Ken) Comeau, Saint John, NB; step-grandchildren, MacKenzie Yeadon and Hunter Ambrose; and many nieces and nephews. <br>She is also survived by her brothers-in-law James Richard (Kathy), Calgary, Alberta, Ernie Hadley, Halifax; and eight brothers–in-law of the family name Cormier, all of Minto, NB; sisters-in-law Bernadette (Greg) Thornhill, Yellowknife, N.W.T.; Julie (Joe) Dempsey, Donna Hadley, Barbara (Richard) Codner, all of Halifax, Heather (Jonas) Keleta, Vancouver , B.C. <br>She was predeceased by her father and mother-in-law Emile and Alice (White) Richard, Minto, NB. <br>Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm on Wednesday March 29 in St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 320 Flying Cloud Dr., Dartmouth, where the Memorial Mass will take place at 11am on Thursday March 30. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception following graveside service will be held in the church hall. <br>Memorial donations to the St. Vincent de Paul Roof Fund, or to either the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association of Canada would be appreciated by the family. <br>Special thanks to the E.H.S. staff, doctors and nurses of the Dartmouth General and the QEII and to Carol Ann’s cousin Heather Spencer and her husband Ron for all of the love and support given.
