<div itemprop="description">Olson, Carman Wilfred “Blondie “, “Ole” – age 92 of Wellington (Formerly of Dartmouth). Passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 5, 2017 in the Veterans Memorial Building, QE II. Born in Spalding, SK he was the son of the late Conrad Olson and Mary Cattermole (Quallie). At a young age Ole joined the Royal Canadian Navy. After leaving the Navy Ole was employed at the Halifax Dockyard where he retired after 35 years of service with Queens Harbour Master (QHM). Ole enjoyed card games, country music and dancing. He loved travelling to Cape Sable Island to visit his wife’s family. Ole was survived by daughters, Georgena Spencer (Wayne), Dartmouth, Sharon Strum (Jerry), Dartmouth, Marilyn Jones (David), Enfield; son, Carman (Donna), Onslow; grandchildren, Krista, Sean, Tracy, Cari, Collan,; great grandchildren, Morgan, Austin, Corey, Domenick, Maddie, Tyler, Payton, Abby, Audrey; great greatgrandchildren, CJ, Caleb. Ole will be missed by his long time work buddy, Norm Crewe. He was predeceased by his wife Ada; sisters, Alma, Hilda, Mildred; brother Milo and special friend, Margaret. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 1pm on Friday May 26 in Atlantic Funeral Homes 771 Main Street Dartmouth, Rev James Haughn officiating. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Nova Scotia or Canadian Cancer Society.
