<div itemprop="description">Knox (Jones) Winnifred Marie of Dartmouth. On November 12, 2016 passed away peacefully in the presence of her family at the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born at Zealand Station NB to her parents Clarence and Florence (McKeil) Jones on December 12, 1935. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Lawrence “Del” Knox; son, Jeffrey (Kareen) Knox; daughter, Allyson (Tony) Connolly; granddaughters, Julia, Jacquelyn, & Alexa Connolly; sisters, Barbara Moses, Bernice Jones, and brother Burtis Jones. Winnifred was predeceased by a son Scott William; her twin brother, Winston; brother, Carl, and sister, Carlene. Winnifred was an all star wife, mother, grandmother, and homemaker and her love and devotion for her children and grandchildren were all important in her life. She enjoyed a full and varied life enjoying cooking, entertaining, and travelling. She was an enthusiastic golfer and enjoyed her bridge games with several groups. Winnifred's many hobbies utilized the great skill she had with her hands. She skillfully practised sewing, tailoring, knitting, weaving, and hand thrown pottery, tatting, quilling, and needlepoint. Her real passion though was with her hand quilting which she began with the Mayflower Quilters. She leaves behind a legacy of beautiful quilts and wall hangings. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 7-9pm Tuesday, November 15 in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. A celebration of life service will be held 10:30 AM November 16 in the Woodlawn United Church, 54 Woodlawn Road, Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia or a charity of your choice.
