<div itemprop="description">Thomas Frederick Welsh, Age 72, Halifax <br /> <br />It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Frederick Welsh on May 2, 2014 at the QEII hospital. He was born in Moncton, NB, and in earlier years enjoyed curling, playing pool, hunting, golfing, spending time at the cottage in Cape Breton, watching his daughters play sports and following the Montreal Canadiens. In later life, he enjoyed reading, talking about current events and spending time at his cottage in Beach Meadows where he enjoyed the outdoors and walking on the beach with Maxx. <br /> <br />He started his successful 35 year banking career in 1962 and spent the majority of time working at Royal Trust and RBC. He took pride in serving on many volunteer boards including United Way, Salvation Army, the City of Halifax Non-Profit Housing Society as well as other financial associations including Past President Mortgage Loans Association of Nova Scotia and Past President Credit Grantors Association of Nova Scotia. <br /> <br />He is predeceased by his mother and father, Blanche and Frederick Welsh, Moncton, sister, Mary Fletcher (Arthur) London, ON. He is survived by wife, Roberta Welsh, Halifax, sister Patsy Fitzgerald (Wayne), Ottawa, his daughters, Lori Welsh, Halifax, Lisa Welsh (Andrew) Dartmouth, his two stepsons Paul Robb (Ottawa), David Robb (Dartmouth), four grandchildren; Marin, Jay, Luke and Olivia, niece, Suzanne, nephew James, great nephews Daniel and Josh, and his dog Maxx. <br /> <br />A private family ceremony will take place following cremation.
