<div itemprop="description">Stewart, Vivia, age 95, died peacefully at Oakwood Terrace in the presence of her family. She was born in Wales. She served as a Chief Petty Officer in the Wrens in Scotland where she met her husband, John (RCN). They were married in 1944 and settled in Montreal where their three children were born and raised. After her husband&rsquo;s retirement in 1976 they moved to Dartmouth. They were blessed with 63 happy years together. Vivia created a loving home for her family and friends. She was an active member of St. Andrew&rsquo;s Presbyterian Church and the AMS (Atlantic Mission Society) and throughout her life was very involved as a volunteer in the churches and the communities where she lived. Vivia was predeceased by her husband, John; brother, Campbell; sisters, Myra and Brenda; and tragically last December by her granddaughter, Doreen. She will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by daughters, Margaret (David) Craig and Vivia (Allan) Leslie; son, John (Monika); grandchildren, Caroline (Sebastain), Jeana, Kristin, Stewart, and Doreen&rsquo;s husband, Doug; great grandchildren, Livia, Sydney, Logan, Dylan, Luca and Alex; sister Madge (Bill); brother, Jack; many nieces and nephews and her good friend Rita. The family wishes to thank all the staff at Oakwood, especially Unit A, the residents and their families who touched Mum&rsquo;s and our lives with their love, care and friendship over the past 7 years. Interment will be Friday with family present. The memorial service will be at St Andrew&rsquo;s Presbyterian Church, 216 School St., Dartmouth at 11:00am Saturday, April 16. Family flowers only.
