<div itemprop="description">McClure, Thomas Donald &quot;Don&quot; passed away on September 25, 2015. Born October 17, 1934 to the late Tom and Dora McClure in Hamilton, Ontario, Don was a true gentleman, a devoted and industrious family man and a superb raconteur with a keen sense of humour! He loved the woods and hunting with his buddies but perhaps most of all he loved fishing with Andy and Mike. Don worked for 38 years with SKF Bearings, initially as a tool and die maker in Scarborough before moving into sales and management, first in Montreal and from 1968 to 1994 traveling the Atlantic provinces. He loved his road trips and the solitude of the beach. A talented woodworker, his children and grandchildren are happily surrounded by his many projects and amazing creations from &quot;Grandad's workshop&quot;. <br />Don was predeceased by wife Norma; parents; brother Bill; and stepmother Marg.<br />He is survived by sister, Barbara (Len) Lockwood of Hamilton, ON, sisters-in-law Marg (wife of brother Bill) McClure of Brampton, ON and Pat (Red) Lowther of Surrey, BC; daughters Dawn McClure of Elora, ON, Jane (Greg) Lenehan of Dartmouth; and Barb (Andy) Ellsmere of Dartmouth; grandchildren Tom and Anna Westwood, Nick, Stuart and Katie Lenehan and Michael and Joe Ellsmere. <br /><br />Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2015 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A celebration of Don's life will take place on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Community Garden at Ivany Place, c/o Northwood Foundation.<br /><br />Thank you to the staff at Ivany Place, we could not have asked for more compassionate and skilled care. And thanks to all those who lent a helping hand to our Dad throughout his difficult and painful struggle with Alzheimer's. We love you with all our hearts, Dad and will miss you terribly, but it is time for you to join Norma, the love of your life and your wife of nearly 56 years.
