<div itemprop="description">Age 81 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully September 18 2016 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.<br><br>Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Douglas and Helen (Day) Montford.<br><br>Shirley was a dental Assistant for Dr. Talim Ibrahim for much of her working life. She retired at the age of 53 to care for her only grandson, Chad Lovett. She was a devoted grandmother, mother, sister and friend who opened her heart and home to many. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity, not limited to friends and family. <br><br>She will be missed by her spouse, Kenneth Sheaves; daughter Wendy (Wayne) Lovett nee Tanner, Dartmouth; sisters, June Boutilier; Helen Montford; Debbie (Richard) Pastorius; brother, Fred (Joan) Montford; grandson, Chad (Brittany) Lovett; great-granddaughter, Miss Carter Lee Lovett; and many nieces and nephews.<br><br>Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her son Brian Tanner.<br><br>Cremation has taken place. Care has been entrusted to Atlantic Funeral Homes Dartmouth Chapel, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Visitation will take place on Friday, September 23 2016 from 6-8 pm. The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 24 2016 at 2:00 pm with a reception to follow. A private family interment will take place at a later date in Mount Hermon Cemetery.<br><br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to a charity of choice. <br><br>The family would like to offer thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of 4 West, Dartmouth General Hospital, for their loving care of Shirley.</div>
