
Barrett, Ronald Patrick, 82 Dartmouth. Passed away after a lengthy illness Wednesday January 23, 2013 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Halifax he was the son of the late Daniel and Daisy (Wilson) Barrett. Ronald was predeceased by brother David. He is survived by his devoted loving wife of 59 years Marjorie (Siddle), Dartmouth; daughters Susan (David) Bowes, Fletcher Lake, Nancy Eisener, Cole Harbour, Linda (Les) Scott, Shubenacadie; son Gary, Dartmouth; son in law Graham Eisener; grandchildren Andrew Bowes, Jodi Bowes, Matthew Eisener, Bradley Cornelius, Jennifer Cornelius, Julie Barrett and Mallory (Kevin) Marriott ; 4 great grandchildren; brother Edward and sister Valerie (Bobby) Dickson; niece Shauna-Lee and nephew David.
Ronald was a skilled carpenter by trade he was employed by Halifax Shipyards. He joined the Canadian Naval Reserves prior to his full time employment with the Royal Canadian Navy. He was then employed with Halifax Regional School Board where he retired after a 25 year career. While still continuing with the Reserves he retired as Chief Petty Officer.
Ronald was a hardworking man and enjoyed hunting, camping, social gatherings and was well known for his competitive nature playing crib (often calling Muggins).
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4pm and 7-9pm Friday January 25 with a Memorial Service 11:00 am Saturday January 26 both in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street Dartmouth. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Reception to follow in Atlantic Funeral Home Reception Centre. Family flowers only. Donations in Ronald`s memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
