<div itemprop="description">Cassivi, Roger Joseph Age 74, of Tantallon, passed away suddenly at home on September 2, 2016. <br> <br>He was a son of the late Howard and Liliane (Fournier) Cassivi. <br> <br>Roger was born and raised in Gaspé, Quebec until he moved to Dartmouth, where he started a family of his own. He retired from the Bedford Institute of Oceanography as an Electronic Design Technologist after serving over 35 years. In his youth he was involved in hockey and baseball. He continued his involvement in hockey and love for sports by supporting and coaching his son and granddaughter on various teams throughout the years. Roger, aside from spending quality time with family, enjoyed international travel and sharing stories of his trips, as he was educated on and fascinated by, the art, culture and history of the places he visited. He also had a keen interest in Soccer, Formula One and Tour de France. <br> <br>He is pre-deceased by brother Marcel (Solange). He is survived by his son Jay Cassivi; granddaughter Danielle Cassivi; his sisters Carmen (Mario) Cassivi, Danielle Cassivi, Micheline Cassivi; brothers Jacques (Sandra) and Michel (Andree); many cherished in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place. A “Memorial Celebration of Life” will be held on Friday September 16, 2016 from 2-4pm at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street. A private ceremony and burial will take place at a later date. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation (JDRF), would be welcome, as Roger was very supportive of his granddaughter, who lives with this condition, and any efforts made to find a cure. <br> <br></div>
