<div itemprop="description">Tonks (Finucan), Rita Mary – age 92 of Dartmouth passed away Friday, November 11, 2016 in Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial, QE II. Born in Wellesley, Ontario she was a daughter of the late John and Mary (McMahon) Finucan. Rita enjoyed baking, picking berries, watching her strawberry gardens grow. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She lived her life for her children, supporting them through thick and thin. Rita is survived by her daughters, Shirley Roche, Tangier, Judith Tonks-O’Rourke, Dartmouth; sons, Thomas Jr., Dartmouth and Mike (Linda), Fredericton; brother, Tom, Ingersol, Ont; sister, Helen “Sister Mary James”, London, Ont.; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas George; son, William; brothers, Mike, Bart, Jim, Joe, Jack, Lorne and sister Florence, “Sister St. Jude”. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of life will be held 10 am Friday, November 18th in St. Luke’s, 9 Veterans Avenue, Dartmouth. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to St. Luke’s Church or a charity of choice. Thanks to Nightingale Services, Northwood Home Care and staff of Dartmouth General Hospital and Camp Hill Veteran’s Memorial for the care they provided to Rita before her death.
