Paul Dyer
April 15, 1938 - June 15, 2016
Dyer, Paul Murray Passed away peacefully June 15, 2016 at Oakwood Terrace. He was the son of the late Murray and Minnie Dyer. Paul was born in Roachville, NB a small community just outside of Sussex. Paul always had a strong work ethic, which started with his first job delivering papers on his paper route. After Paul finished high school, he joined the Military. After basic training he was stationed in Ottawa. Paul married the love of his life, Grace, in October 1959. In March 1960 Grace and Paul headed off to Germany where they were stationed for 2 ½ years. During those years their two sons Steve and Mike were born. Paul was then transferred to France where they spent the next 2 ½ years. In 1965 Cold Lake AB was their next home, until 1972 when they moved to Shearwater, NS and this is where they remained until Paul retired from the Military in 1985. This was the beginning of Paul’s next career working at IMP for the next 18 years as a technical writer. After retirement Paul kept himself busy doing model airplanes, fixing anything and everything around the house and keeping his car spotless! Paul was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2008 which he faced with courage and strength. Paul is survived by his loving wife Grace, his son Mike (Leslie Cansfield), and his grandson Mike (Alicia Tilley). Paul was predeceased by his eldest son Stephen. Visitation will be held at the Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street Dartmouth, on June 20, 2016 from 10am until the time of Funeral Service in the chapel at 11am. Interment to take place at the Dartmouth Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Followed by a reception in the Lakeview Suite, Atlantic Funeral Home.
