<div itemprop="description">Hogan, Patricia Louise &ldquo;Pat&rdquo; &ndash; age 68 of Dartmouth passed away Friday October 2, 2015 in the Halifax Infirmary, QE II. Born in New Glasgow Pat is the daughter of Leta Mae Campbell and the late Robert Henry Smith. Pat is survived by children, Robert, Tanya (Scot), Angela (Joe) and J.R. (Amanda); grandchildren, Zackary, Breton, Hailey, Hunter, Harley, Hayden and Livia and brother, Bob Smith. She was predeceased by son in law, Vince Penney and parents in law, Benedict and Mary &ldquo;Min&rdquo; Hogan. Pat was a lifelong Early Childhood Educator who advocated for the rights of children; municipally, provincially and nationally. In 2005 Pat was awarded the Prime Minister&rsquo;s Award for Teaching Excellence having been nominated by her Nova Scotia colleagues whom she held in high regard. Pat was the Head Teacher and Director of Dartmouth Preschool &ndash; A Head Start Program since 1983. She also mentored several students in the Early Childhood Education Program. Upon her retirement in 2014 Pat spent her time making memories with her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She will be sadly missed by her dog, Abby. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm Monday, October 5 with a Memorial Service 1pm Tuesday, October 6 followed by a reception all in Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. No flowers by request. Donations in Pat&rsquo;s memory may be made to Kiwanis (Dartmouth Chapter).
