<div itemprop="description"> <p> Smith, Olive Mavis, age 92, of Dartmouth, NS, passed away March 9, 2012 at the Halifax Infirmary. Born in Newport, Vermont, USA. She was the daughter of the late Mel and Constance Yetter. </p> <p> Olive was active in the Dartmouth community for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Dartmouth Curling Club, and the Brightwood Golf and Country Club. On many Friday nights at Brightwood, Olive and all of the &ldquo;Lovely Ladies&rdquo; gathered for friendship and fun. Olive was active in the Nova Scotia Equestrian Federation for many years and an active volunteer for Sport Nova Scotia. Olive was an avid traveler, cruising to more than 30 countries over her lifetime. She often said that if she could travel every week, &ldquo;that would be fine&rdquo;. </p> <p> Survived by her daughters Connie Bryson (Howard Elliott) of Terrace Bay, Ontario, Susan MacDonald, Kentville, NS and her son, Tom Smith (Hawley Crosby), Dartmouth, NS. Grandchildren, Kenneth Bryson, Kimberly Salesse, Jason Smith, Kyle Smith, Lindsay Chute, and Olivia Smith. Great Grandchildren Brandon Smith, Jack and Owen Bryson, Stacia Salesse, Jiya Smith and Kaiden Chute. </p> <p> Olive was predeceased by her husband, Mead Kenneth Smith (1989) </p> <p> Funeral service will be held at Atlantic Funeral Homes (Dartmouth Memorial Gardens), 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, NS, on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 2:00 pm. Reverend James Haughn officiating. </p> <p> In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
