HAINES, Olive Sarah age 92 of Bridgewater passed away peacefully February 16, 2013 at home in Bridgewater. Born in Camrose, Alberta she was a daughter of the late Herbert and Sarah (Wilkinson) Heighington.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1943-1945 when she met the love of her life Kenneth in Reserve Mines, NS. Together they owned and operated Lynwood Lodge and Antiques in Musquodoboit Harbour from 1945-1963 and Lynwood Antiques & Art Gallery in Baddeck, Cape Breton from 1963-1984 until they retired. They spent their retirement years travelling in the Caribbean, Florida and Nova Scotia.
Olive is survived by her husband of 67 years Kenneth, sons Bruce (Jeanie), Dartmouth; David (Linda), Harmony; son in law, Bernie Kelly, Falmouth; sister Mary, Drayton Valley, Alberta; grandchildren Wendy, Derrick, Erick, Sarah, Bryan, Mikael, Laura, great grandchildren Drew, Abigail, Kelsey, Alicia and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her daughter Karen, sister Ruth, brothers Norman, Oliver, Bill.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 2-4, 7-9 pm, Wednesday in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St., Dartmouth. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, February, 21, 2013 in Oakridge Memory Gardens, Old Sackville Rd., Lower Sackville.
