He was predeceased by his father, Bedford and sister in law, Wanda Dorey. Merlin was a member of the Classic Chevy Club of Nova Scotia for over 30 years. His passion was always working on vehicles and classics were his favourite. He resided in Lake Echo for over half his life and started his passion of restoring and fixing vehicles from a small garage in the back yard. From there he somehow found his dream “Salvage Yard” in Greenhill. With lots of hard work and determination, from both him and his wife they made that dream a reality. He owned and operated Merlin’s Auto Salvage for 16 years with his son by his side. Merlin was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Megan, Dylan, Joel and Connor were Grampy’s pride and joy. If he wasn’t in his garage or at a car show, you could find him in the woods fishing or hunting with his best friend Charlie Day. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 1-2pm Saturday January 2 followed by a Memorial Service at 2pm both in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Reception to follow. Family have requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
