<div itemprop="description"> <p> SPARKS, Maynard Leo, 73 of Lake Loon Rd., Dartmouth, NS passed away peacefully at Dartmouth General Hospital on Thursday April 12, 2012.&nbsp; Born in Dartmouth on June 4, 1938, he was the eldest son of the late Clifford and Dorothy Sparks.&nbsp; He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara of 47 years; 6 children Perry, D&rsquo;Arcy, Marilyn, Sherry Willams all of Toronto, ON and Mark, Calvin of Dartmouth, NS; 11 brothers and sisters Mitchell, Isabel Pelley, Darlene Hewitt, Beulah Bowles, Una Bowles, Geneva Sager, Sharlene Gajewski, Donelda Sparks all of Toronto and Noella James, Marlene Sparks and Sherman of Dartmouth; 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.&nbsp; Predeceased by his brother Brenton Sparks and sister Vandella Russell.&nbsp;&nbsp; He was a Drywaller by trade.&nbsp; He loved to laugh and joke and was an avid reader. &nbsp;Maynard read the Holy Scriptures daily.&nbsp; In his later years he gave his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ and joined the fellowship of believers at Cherry Brook United Baptist Church.&nbsp; We take comfort in knowing that he has now gone to a better home but he will be sincerely missed by all family and friends.&nbsp; Family would like to give special thanks to Maynard&rsquo;s 2 devoted friends, Fulton Grant and George &ldquo;Ed&rdquo; Beals.&nbsp; They were a great comfort to him and his family.&nbsp; Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St. Dartmouth where visitation will be held 7-9 pm Monday April 16, 2012.&nbsp; A brief service by the Brotherhood of Cherry Brook United Baptist Church will also be held on Monday, April 16th between 7:30 &ndash; 8 pm.&nbsp; Funeral service will be held at Cherry Brook United Baptist Church at 2 pm on Tuesday April 17, 2012.&nbsp; In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cherry Brook United Baptist Church Benevolent Fund.&nbsp; </p> </div>
