<div itemprop="description">Walker (Corkum), Mary Alice-74, of Oromocto, NB formerly of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2016 at home. <br>Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Francis “Frank” and Marie (Webb) Corkum and step-mother Leota “Ottie” Corkum. <br>Mary worked for many years as an LPN at Ocean View Continuing Care. She enjoyed knitting and playing bingo, and was especially talented at word games. She was always positive, even when faced with the recent diagnosis of ALS. <br>After retirement, she reconnected with Bud and as seniors, they have enjoyed many years together. They loved to travel and enjoyed many trips together to places like Myrtle Beach, Norway and Nashville. <br>Mary was understanding, honest, never judged anyone, but accepted them for who they were, and was a true and compassionate friend. Mary raised three great children all on her own and was the tether of the family. She was our matriarch, the link that held the family together. We were lucky to have her. <br>She is survived by her life partner James “Bud” Clark, Oromocto, NB; daughter Jane Harnish, New Glasgow; sons Gary (Maryanne) Walker, Halifax, Jeff (Cyndi) Walker, Rocky Mountain House, AB; grandchildren, Holly and Timothy Harnish, Kayla (Nara) and Robbie Walker, Kendra and Sean Walker and one great grandson on the way. She is also survived by brothers John (Bev) Corkum and Rick (Cathy) Corkum; sisters Elaine (Mike) Flemming and Marieanne (Dave) Irwin; sister in law Nancy Corkum, and many nieces and nephews. She will also be missed by Anne McCrate, Mark McCulloch, Tim Harnish and Beth Williston and her treasured yorkie Cheri; and will also be missed by her extended Clark family, Timothy and Cathy with Scott, Greg and Olivia; Jim and Shoshanna with Michael, Johnathan and Kelvin; Kristina and Justin with Slade and Brodie. <br>She was predeceased by her brothers Stephen and Robert (Linda) Corkum; sister Marlene (Joe) Klena. <br>Cremation has taken place. Memorial visitation will be held from 12:30-2pm on Saturday October 22 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street Dartmouth. The Memorial service will take place immediately following visitation at 2pm in the funeral home chapel, with a reception to follow.
