<div itemprop="description">DesRochers (Johnston), Marilyn Patricia - age 60 of Dartmouth passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday May 24, 2016. Born in Sydney Mines she was a daughter of Allison Reid and Loretta (Young) Johnston. Marilyn was a graduate of Acadia University and has a education degree from Mount Saint Vincent University. She was a Principal of Dartmouth Career College from 1979-1988, substitute teacher for Halifax Regional School Board and an Excel teacher at Portland Estates Elementary. Marilyn is survived by her husband Claude; son, Scott; sisters, Donna Dickson (Rob) and Susan Johnston; sisters in law, Michelle (Paul) and Cindy (Ab); nieces and nephews, Janice Dickson, Laura Leslie, Paul Saunders, Shawn Ettinger, Stephanie Ettinger and Rachel Ettinger. She was predeceased by her father Allison Reid Johnston. A memorial service will be held at 1pm Tuesday May 31 at Woodlawn United Church, Rev. Holly Edsall officiating. Reception to follow in church hall. Donations may be made to the QE II Health Foundation, Palliative Care.
