<div itemprop="description">Mombourquette, Leonard Wayne Joseph <br /> <br />Age 59 of East Chezzetcook. It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Lenny Mombourquette on Wednesday, June 5th, 2013, surrounded by his loving family in the Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Sorel, Richelieu, Quebec on November 21st, 1953. He is a son of Marie (Dowling) and the late Riley Mombourquette. Survived by his sister Sandra (Bill) Hope, Charlottetown; brother Barry Mombourquette, East Chezzetcook, brother-in-law David West (Shirley Pye), nephews Shawn and Marc West, and niece Nina Mombourquette. Pre-deceased by his common law wife Debra Chambers and sister Donna West. Lenny will be missed dearly by his family and friends. <br /> <br />Lenny worked for the Canadian Coast Guard, a carpenter by trade, repairing lighthouses and navigational systems throughout Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. He loved working in the outdoors and flying in the helicopters out to remote sites along the coastlines, photographing his travels as he worked. <br />Lenny was an avid sports enthusiast who liked to hunt, fish and play golf. He liked to hang out in the &quot;shed&quot;, his wood working shop, tinkering with wood and hanging out with his friends and fellow workers. Lenny was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 161. <br /> <br />Special thanks to close family friend/nurse, Pam King, Dr. Wasilewski and the Doctors and nursing staff of the IC unit, 4th floor, of the Dartmouth General Hospital who gave Lenny's family great comfort during his brief illness. <br /> <br />Visitation is Monday, June 10th from 6pm to 8pm at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main St. Dartmouth NS with the funeral service taking place on Tuesday, June 11th at 2pm in the funeral home chapel, Legion Chaplain Bill Pitual officiating.
