Kenneth Larry "Ken" Swinamer
March 19, 1949 - November 16, 2015
Swinamer, Kenneth Larry In loving memory of Ken “Kenny”, aged 66, of North Preston, who passed away on November 16, 2015 after a brief battle with Cancer, in the VG site, QEII.
Born in Three Mile Plains, Windsor, in 1949, he was the youngest child of the late Raymond and Alice (Wilson) Swinamer.
Ken enjoyed a 28 year career working at Dalhousie University, retiring in 2004. When he retired from Dal, he worked with the Commissionaires for several years.
Ken was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church. This is where he met and married Lorna (the love of his life) in 1995.
Ken is survived by his wife of twenty years, Lorna (Blagrove) Swinamer; goddaughter Kailea Saunders, Dartmouth; sisters Katherine Bates, Halifax and Marilyn (Laurie) Wile, Ardoise; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by sisters, Elta and Barbara; and brothers, Walter and Emerson.
Visitation for Family and Friends will take place at the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth on Sunday, November 22, 2015, from 7 to 9 PM.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Dartmouth Seventh Day Adventist Church, 35 Lakecrest Drive, Dartmouth, at 1pm on Monday November 23, Pastor Kevin Scott officiating. A reception will follow in the church hall. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Dartmouth Seventh-Day Adventist Church (Wheelchair Access Ramp Fund).
