<div itemprop="description">MacKenzie Kenneth Joseph of Dartmouth and Peterborough, Ontario passed away January 3, 2017, in Camp Hill Hospital. He was born in Woodside on December 2, 1918 and was the son of the late Seymour and Mary (Martell). He was a gentle, kind and compassionate man who absolutely loved the games of hockey and baseball and could be found watching the game right up until the end. In 2016 he met Sydney Crosby and even got a photo op of Syd with the Stanley Cup! He loved playing cards, bowling, horse racing and could be found at the Casino every now and then. He served overseas in The Airforce in WWII and lived most of his life in Peterborough Ontario where he worked for the City of Toronto until he retired. He was predeceased by his wife Cathy, with whom he celebrated over 60 years of marriage. Ken is survived by his brother Stanley (Delores) Dartmouth, niece Brenda (Simone) Halifax, and nephew Gary (Carol), Windsor, and many nieces and nephews in Ontario. He was predeceased by brothers, Harvey, Austin, Walter and sister, Leona. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Camp Hill Hospital 4 East for taking care of Ken over the past 5 years. Cremation has taken place in Atlantic Funeral Home in Dartmouth. A memorial service will be held in Peterborough, Ontario at a further date where his ashes will be placed with his wife Cathy.
