Karen Moore
April 24, 1958 - July 19, 2014
Karen Elizabeth Moore
(Apr 24, 1958 - July 19, 2014)
Many hearts were broken as we announce the sudden passing of Karen Moore. Her short but courageous battle with cancer came to an end on July 19, 2014.
Karen was predeceased by Mom and Dad, Vera and Lloyd Moore. Beloved sister, Karen leaves siblings Pat, Mike (Bridgid Bowers) and Darlene (Jim Jackson) to mourn. She was an incredible Auntie Karen to her very own special nephew, Shawn Maybie and his two boys Zackery and Cody as well as nieces, Jodi MacMullen, Brenda Beauchamp and her three girls, and nephew Michael Beauchamp. Karen leaves behind her precious “Joy” (Joy Taylor) who came into her life three years ago. All those who were fortunate enough to have Karen in their lives will feel this incredible loss.
Roots in Dartmouth did not stop her from making her mark in the communities of Bedford and Sackville as well. She was the successful owner and operator of Karen Moore’s Trophies since 1991; gaining the respect of all with the professional and personal relationships she developed. Her involvement in her community was wide spread. She spent much of her life giving back and helping those less fortunate thru her involvement in such organizations as Special Olympics, the Optimist Club, Turkey Club, Christmas Boxes, the Halifax Volunteer Group, and Shubenacadie Canal Committee. She was a proud and committed member of so many sports teams, from ball hockey, broomball, softball, to bowling.
When you met Karen; you immediately made a new friend as she always said, “treat others like you want to be treated.” Karen’s big, beautiful smile and laugh lit up the room. She lived life to the fullest; always speaking of how blessed she was to have so many wonderful people in her life. A sincere heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the 24/7 care given to both Karen and Joy by special friends, Velda and Marlene and Fran and Mitch.
Celebration of her life to be held at Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main S, Dartmouth. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 23rd, 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 pm
Memorial service to follow on Thursday, July 24th at 2 p.m. Reception to follow on premise.

“Girlfriend, I hear Sarah McLachlan singing to you! You are now in the arms of an angel. Sing and dance with Mom, Dad and Buddi and take credit for teaching us all about unconditional love. You made a difference!”
