Kamel Toulany
February 28, 1928 - September 5, 2014
Toulany, Kamel Bechara – 1928-2014. Age 87 of Dartmouth. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Kamel, in the early hours of Friday, September 5 in Dartmouth General Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born and lived in Miniara, Akkar, North Lebanon where he met and married his wife Nijmeh Tourfeh and then moved and lived in Beirut where he became one of the most decorated ceramic mosaic architect. His work still stand as art work in some of the most prestigious buildings in Beirut. In 1976 he immigrated with his family to Canada. He was predeceased by his parents, four brothers, one sister; sons in law David Aboud, Fahim Diab, William Asfour, Milad Oufan. Kamel is survived by his wife, Nijmeh (Tourfeh) Toulany, his sons, George (Rose) Toulany and John (Joumana) Toulany and daughters, Jacqueline Aboud, Eveline Diab, Denise Asfour, Laurice Mullin (Nathen), Lijia Milhem (Mohsen), Lina Shamoun (Samir), Fadia Oufan, Viviane Haje (Tony), Laila Saoud (Marwan) and Georgette Boutros (George) all of Dartmouth and 42 grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 7-9pm Saturday September 6 and 2-4 and 7-9pm Sunday, September 7 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Funeral Mass will be held 11am Monday, September 8 in Our Lady of Lebanon Church, 3844 Joseph Howe Drive, Halifax. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens, Dartmouth.
