Kennedy, Judith "Judy" Claire (Pineo) - (February 10, 1958- May 20, 2013). On Monday, May 20th, 2013, the world lost an incredible mother, daughter, friend, baker extraordinaire and number one fan of the Cole Harbour Midget Hockey Team, Judy Kennedy of Porter’s Lake, Nova Scotia. Judy had an unmatched ability to see the positive in any situation. Her life wasn’t always easy, but she always seemed to be able to see the good in any person, the light in any time of darkness and live each day with a contagious positive spirit. A successful entrepreneur, she spent over 20 years delivering impeccable service and building wonderful relationships and friendships with her co-workers and customers alike. Her dedication and work ethic set an wonderful example for her children to follow. She will be remembered for her creativity and ability to bring neighbourhood kids together from around the block make crafts, usually including pipe cleaners, felt and googly eyes (She was into Googling before it was even cool). She taught the world by example everything about the true meaning of charity, empathy and being mindful of others. Regardless of how much money was in the bank, or how busy she was, she was always the first to show up with baked goods for someone who was going through a tough time, or offer words of encouragement to someone who needed them. She is survived by her ‘Honey’ Scott (Blenkhorn), and children Michael and Laura Emily, and Parsnip, her Grandbunny. They are incredibly proud of her and grateful to have had her in their lives and have had the opportunity to create so many wonderful memories. She will also be remembered by her mother Myrtle (Pineo) of Boutilier's Point, sisters Heather (Regan) of Port Williams, Susan (North) from Halifax, and brother Craig of Halifax, as well as an extended family and many friends. She was predeceased by her father James (Pineo) and Mother-In-Law Kathleen (Blenkhorn). A visitation is scheduled from 4-6pm on Saturday, May 25th at the Atlantic Funeral Home at 771 Main Street in Dartmouth. There will be a memorial service and Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 26th, at 1pm at the same location. The Celebration of Life will be immediately followed by a Celebration Potluck (bring your appetite, your favorite dish, great memories and some Tupperware! Yum!). In lieu of flowers, we'd ask that you make donations in Judy's memory to Parker Street Food Exchange or Hope Blooms.
