Joe volunteered to serve in the R.C.A.S.C. during WW2 and was a D-Day Veteran serving in France, Holland and Germany. Joe was a member of a number of Royal Canadian Legion branches as he lived in different regions of Nova Scotia, his final Branch was Centennial #160. Joe loved the outdoors and was happiest working in the woods or our garden and always enjoyed going back to spent time at the family farm in PEI. Always a family man he loved all his family members and really enjoyed small children so his great-grandchildren were very special to him. Joseph will be greatly missed by his wife Brenda who has been at his side for the past 35 years including the last 8 years of increasing infirmity. Despite his infirmities Joe never lost his interest in life around and was "nosey" to the end. Joseph is survived by his wife Brenda (Allt); sons Bernard (Jeannette), Wayne (Beth), daughters Joy and Darlene (Michael Bailey); Stepchildren Les (Dominique), Jane (Leo) and Stephen (Cindy). He is survived by grandchildren Chad, Kerri-Lynn, Craig, Andrea, Ryan, Stacey, Nicole, Joey and step grand-children Brian, Sean, Marcus, Sarah, and Michael.
