<div itemprop="description">Kelbratowski Joseph, 87, passed away suddenly on December 19, 2016 in his home in Lake Echo. <br>To many of his family and friends alike Joseph was affectionately known as Uncle Joe. <br>Born in Tuchola, Poland in 1929, Joseph was the second youngest amongst a family with twelve children. In 1944 when he was just 15 years old, Joe was forced to join German forces who ordered him that they would train him as a future soldier, for WWII efforts. He was also forced to work in the coal mines as a laborer. After the war he operated his family farm in Poland. In 1961 with his young family he left Poland to immigrate to Canada. During his early years in Canada Joe worked exceptionally hard, carrying on his farming roots in Maitland as well as peddling meat in Dartmouth. Eventually he opened his first meat and deli business in Dartmouth. He was a TRUE BUSINESSMAN, who gained great satisfaction from his work and from the many friends he made. <br>He is survived by two loving sons : Christopher and (Marsha), Michael (Theresa), granddaughters Katrina and Kassandra, his sisters Teresa and Irena and brother Fonek (Poland), nephew Bob, niece Hanka and her family as well as many nieces and nephews in Canada, United States and Poland. <br>Joseph was predeceased by his wife, Helen, his sons John and Roger and his eight siblings. <br>Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2016 from 6-9pm at the Atlantic Funeral Homes, 771 Main St, Dartmouth from where the funeral service will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at 1pm with Fr.
