<div itemprop="description">83, of Eastern Passage, with heavy hearts and fond memories we the family, share the passing of Jean Mae McMullen on October 5th, 2016 surrounded by her family. <br> <br>Born in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Ada Smith. <br> <br>She retired from Hartlen Point Golf Course after over 35 years of employment. Jean enjoyed working multiple jobs with the public to give her family a good life. She also enjoyed playing bingo, spending time with her pets, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was in love with Tom Jones and Johnny Reid. She also enjoyed going for long drives. <br> <br>Survived by children Susan Munroe (Lindsay Rhynold), William (Peggy) McMullen, Nancy (Gary) Glessing, Mark McMullen, Larry McMullen, Darlene (Russell) Eddy, Cheryl McMullen (Doug Perry), and Derrick McMullen. She will be sadly missed by 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Doris, Christina and Victoria, and brother John (Marie); brothers-in-law Gordon, William and Harry (Kelly); and sister-in-law Elsie (Bertus). <br> <br>She will be sadly missed by her pets Sassy and Libby. <br> <br>She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 51 years Herbert Donald McMullen and son Robin. Also predeceased by supportive companion of 10 years William E. Alyward. She was also predeceased by brother Raymond, sisters Constance and Gerine: sister-in-law Shirley “Bunny”. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at 2pm on Wednesday October 12, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth with a reception to follow. Interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. <br> <br>Flowers are welcome. Memorial donations may be made to the IWK foundation. <br> <br>Thank you to the nurses and doctors of the Dartmouth General Emergency Department for your kindness and hard work.</div>
