<div itemprop="description">Clayton(Downey- Smith), Jane -67 of North Preston passed away April 14, 2013 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born in North Preston she was the daughter of the late Ida and Frances Downey Sr. Jane was a member of the St. Thomas Baptist Church where she got to know the lord and was baptized many years ago. She was a loving mother and house wife. Jane spent most of her time in the kitchen and helping raise her grandchildren. Jane enjoyed going for walks and visiting the community. She was a very kind lady with a good sense of humour whom was fun, happy and could give you a good laugh. She will be sadly missed by many. <br /> <br />Survived by her husband Gable Clayton daughters Mary Ann (Robbie Clayton), Elizabeth, Renay all of Dartmouth; sons Scott, Halifax, Carl, Halifax, Floyd, Dartmouth, Ringo( Nicole Beals), Ontario, Custio, North Preston; sisters Stella, Onita, Burley, Margaret (Lester Morris), Ontario, Myrtle, Lavon, Mildred all of North Preston; brothers Perry (Margaret), Flemming (Violet), Conrod (Carolann), Albert (Patricia), all of North Preston; 27 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; God Children Kaydine Downey, Eskaranda Downey, Josie Beals, Trameyia Downey, Janell Fraser, Vivian Cain and many special friends. <br /> <br />Jane was predeceased by brothers Francis Jr., and Angus Downey and sisters Adeline Simmonds and Clara Downey. <br /> <br />Visitation will be held at Thursday April 18 2-4 pm at Atlantic Funeral Homes 771 Main Street, Dartmouth and 7-9pm at St. Thomas United Baptist Church, North Preston. A funeral Service will be held 1pm Friday April 19 at St. Thomas United Baptist Church, Rev. Wallace Smith officiation. Burial in Downey Road Cemetery.
