<div itemprop="description">Meek, Howard Lewis &ndash; 73 of Fall River. Passed away January 6, 2014 in the QE II Halifax Infirmary. Born in Toronto the son of the late Dr. Benjamin Edward Meek and the late Edith Mildred Meek (Baker). Howard started in the insurance business as summer job which turned in to his career. January 1981 in Ecclesiastical Insurance office in Toronto and in 1987 transferred to Halifax branch as Branch Manager. Retiring in December 2004. Howard was a brother of the Masons John Albro Lodge &ndash; 122. Howard like to play guitar in his earlier years, other interests of his was photography that he shared with his wife and also developing his own film. Howard had an interest in computer technology from the onset and always upgraded as technology changed. Howard was also an avid golfer and was a member of Brookfield Golf Club along with his sons Derek and Brad. Survived by his wife Cheryl &ldquo;Cherrie&rdquo; (Knox); sons Derek, Fall River and Brad (Tanya Martin), Elmsdale; daughter Kylie Meek (Scott Erwin); grandchildren Autumn, Cole and Lylah, all of Newmarket, Ontario; brother Bill, Edmonton Alberta; sister Barbara, Scarborough Ontario. He was predeceased by his younger sister Diane Bolton. Cremation has taken place. A Mason service will be held at 7pm followed by a Celebration of Life from 7-9pm Monday January 13 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street Dartmouth. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or charity of choice.
