BOYCE, Heather Fay, R.N. (Hoskin) nee Hilton, 67 of Dartmouth. It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved wife and mother who passed away peacefully at home on February 27, 2012. Born in Halifax she was a daughter of the late Frank and Jean (Cranton) Hilton. Heather graduated from the Nova Scotia Hospital School of Nursing in 1966. She worked as a nurse for 34 years at the Dartmouth General and the Nova Scotia Hospital. Heather loved the outdoors. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, baking and making crafts. Heather was very active with Athletics Nova Scotia in the area of track and field, achieving the highest level as an International Umpire.
She was predeceased by first husband David Hoskin, known as "Super Dave". Heather is survived by her husband Thomas, daughters Shelley (Tony) McCarthy, Tracey (Lawrence) Livesay, grandchildren Zackary, Hannah, Sydney, Emma, sister Ginnie (Ken) Kerr, and other family members. Visitation will be held Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-4, 7-9 pm in Atlantic Funeral Home 771 Main St. Dartmouth. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday March 2, 2012 in Atlantic Funeral Home Chapel, reception to follow. Burial in Mount Hermon Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
