<div itemprop="description">Ingram, Gordon - age 86 of Dartmouth - It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving husband, father and grandfather on Thursday, April 14, 2016 in Dartmouth General Hospital. Born in Stone Valley, NL on December 30, 1929, only child to the late Olive Engram. Gordon grew up with his grandparents, the late Robert and Minnie Engram in a small fishing village where as a child times were often hard. Longing to live a better life he moved to Halifax in 1954 and joined the Royal Canadian Navy. His passion of music would lead him to the love of his life, his forever Marion, a young widow with two small girls. They married in 1957 and the following year welcomed their son to the family. Determined to provide a good life for his wife and children, he would spend the majority of his career aboard ship. Later years he would teach his profession to many young men at CFB Stadacona, retiring in 1984. One of Gordon&rsquo;s passions was wood working. After his retirement from the navy he would build houses for himself and others, perfecting yet another of his many talents. He would often tell his son, Grant &ldquo;if you are going to do something, do it right.&rdquo; In his later years his workshop would be where you would find him, building beautiful furniture for his family or model boats which he loved. His intricate detail he would put into everything he built. His children proudly display his work to this day. Gordon is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marion; son, Grant (Rhoda Dunbar), Beaver Bank; daughters, Cathy Powell (Rick), Dartmouth, Gloria Euloth, Sackville; grandchildren, Krista and Sara Ingram, Laurie and Nicole Dunbar, Justin, Jordon and Jennifer Powell , Heather Burton and Gary Euloth and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral service to be held 1pm Wednesday, April 20 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Reception to follow. Burial in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Woodlawn United Church. Online condolences may be sent by visiting www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com (Dartmouth Chapel)</div>
