<div itemprop="description">Robb, Gordon Douglas “Gord”- age 78 of Cole Harbour, passed away on July 12, 2016 at the Dartmouth General Hospital. <br> <br>Born in Toronto, he was a son of the late Andrew and Hilda Mary (Beare) Robb. <br> <br>Gord served in the Royal Canadian Navy during the Cuban crisis. He then worked for many years as a life insurance salesman in Ontario. His final career was with Metro Transit where he worked as a driver for over 30 years. He always enjoyed doing small engine repairs as a hobby. <br> <br>Gord was a deacon for many years at North Street Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). He regularly attended Wyndholme Christian Church in Dartmouth for the past 18 years. <br> <br>Gordon is survived by his daughters, Paula Lee Robb of Cole Harbour and Maureen Kathleen (Charlie) Hirschfeld of Windsor Forks; brother Alvin Richard Robb of Peterborough, Ont. and several nieces and nephews. <br> <br>He was predeceased by his wife of 49 years Sheila Kathleen (Horne) Robb; and his brother Donald Andrew Robb of Scarborough, Ont; and sister-in-law Marie (Wright) Robb of Peterborough, Ont. <br> <br>Cremation has taken place. The funeral service will be held at 2:30 on Saturday July 16, in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth, Rev. Neil Bergman officiating. Reception to follow. Private interment in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens to take place at a later date. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Association, The Lung Association, or Wyndholme Christian Church, PO Box 28085 Tacoma, Dartmouth, N.S., B2W 6E2. <br> <br>The family would like to express thanks to the staff of 4West of the Dartmouth General Hospital, and in particular to Sherry (LPN) and Dr. VanTol, and Heather (CCC), Loni (SW) Colleen (OT) and Angela (PCN) for your compassion and support. And thanks to all of the family and friends who have supported us along this journey.</div>
