<div itemprop="description">DOWNEY, GOLDIE-MAE – Age 65, of Kennedy Drive, Born and raised in North Preston died peacefully at the Dartmouth General Hospital on September 20, 2016. Goldie was the daughter of the Late Clara Downey Sr. and the Late Kenneth Downey and the Late Ida and Frances Downey. Goldie was a member of Saint Thomas Baptist Church for many years. Goldie was a homemaker who loved to clean, listen to music, dance and also loved watching her soap operas, She loved being around her grandchildren, family and friends. Goldie is survived by daughters Clara Ann Downey, Stephanie Downey-Saunders and Liz Clayton; sons Tico, Ainsley, Samando and Archie “AJ”, Nathan and Lamont; brothers – Conrad (Carolanne), David (Carrie), Scott, Wade(Kathy); sister Clara Beals; Special Mom Estella Downey and the Late Shirley Cain; 12 Grandchildren and four Great grandchildren. Special nieces Laurie, Serena, Laverne and Nadine; Godchildren – Farrell, Jason and Redge; Godmother Oneita Downey, Best Friends Vernelda Downey and Beulah Clayton and the Late Susan Downey. Goldie was predeceased by sisters Millicent and Rosemary. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street. Funeral Service to be held at 1pm on Tuesday September 27 in St. Thomas United Baptist Church, North Preston.<br>Burial to take place in Downey Road Cemetery, North Preston. Donations can be made to the Downey Road Cemetery. The Downey family would like to give a big Thank You to the Doctors and Nurses on 4West and also those who called, visited while Goldie Mae was in hospital.<br></div>
