Geraldine "Doll" Grant
January 9, 1960 - December 3, 2014
GRANT, Geraldine “Doll”-54 of North Preston, passed away on December 3, 2014 in the Victoria General Hospital.
Born in Halifax, N.S., she was a daughter of the late Charlotte Simmonds and the late James Willis.
Geraldine was a devoted woman of God; she loved worshipping, singing, reading and socializing. She was an amazing cook, and passionate baker. Her favourite pastimes included shopping and working with children. She was a very friendly, yet private person, committed to quality education for children with autism. Family meant everything to her; she was a loving and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend who touched all who came in contact with her. Her family adored her and she will be missed by all.
Doll is survived by her husband Wade Grant of North Preston; daughters Shanisha, LaQuanda, and Twyla (bonus daughter); sons, Wade “Kushan”, Kaileem, and Tyre (bonus son). She is also survived by her sisters, Velma, Brenda, Margaret, Violet (Flemming), Charlotte, Joselyn (Weldon), Agnes (Miles), Patricia, Heather (Wade), Adele (Cameron), Violet (Lawrence), Stacey (Francois), Vivian, Karen and Betty; brothers Andrew (Brenda), Colter (Cester), James, Lancea (Rosetta), Krest, Roderice (Charlene) and Lester (Mary); 4 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Maddy; brothers Cleveland and Carter.
Visitation will be held on Monday December 8, 2014 from 7-9pm in Saint Thomas United Baptist Church, 35 Simmonds Road, North Preston, where the funeral service will take place on Tuesday December 9 at 1pm, Reverend Wallace Smith officiating. Burial to take place in Saint Thomas church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Autism Nova Scotia.
