<div itemprop="description">SUMMERS, Gerald William (Smiley) &ndash; 74, of West Chezzetcook. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving husband, step-father, grandfather, brother and friend on September 24, 2014, in the Grand Cayman Islands. Born in Inverness County, Cape Breton, he was a son of the late Albert and Lillian (MacLean) Summers. Gerald enjoyed travelling, serving his church, Foundation Baptist Church in Porter&rsquo;s Lake, music and helping others. Gerald moved to Ontario in the early 1960s and upon retiring moved back to his beloved Nova Scotia in 2001. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Summers, West Chezzetcook, his sister, Debbie (Alfred John) MacRae, Cregnish, Cape Breton, brothers, Donald (Linda Horne) Summers, Porter&rsquo;s Lake, Fraser (Sharon Bilcox) Summers, Ajax, Ontario, Wayne (Rose) Summers, Dartmouth, Frank (Barb) Summers, West Chezzetcook, Albert (Sherry) Summers, Dartmouth, step-daughters, Marlene (Glen) Mills, Robyn Blanchard, Sherry (Jim) Derry, step-sons, Norman Mills, Lloyd Mills, Glenn (Marlene) Mills, Wayne (Sandy) Mills, Leland (Barb) Mills, all of Ontario; six grandchildren, an uncle and aunt in England, 3 nieces, 6 nephews, and numerous cousins.Visitation will take place 2-4 and 7-9 p.m October 6. The funeral service will be held October 7 at 2pm with a burial to follow. All will be held at Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. Donations may be made to The Heart and Stroke foundation and The Diabetes Association.</div>
