<div itemprop="description">Mouat, Gale Mary Margaret, age 68, of Dartmouth, passed away on August 12, 2016 peacefully at home. <br> <br>Born in Montreal, she was the daughter of the late John and Mabel Kearns. <br> <br>When Gale’s boys were young, she devoted a lot of her time volunteering with SEDMHA, and Dartmouth United Soccer Club. She was a member of St. Thomas More Parish and the CWL. <br> <br>She was a very proud business owner and partner in Spar Marine. She loved figure skating, a sport she participated in as a young girl and continued to be a fan of in later years when she would go to the Metro Centre to see Stars on Ice. <br> <br>She enjoyed listening to Elvis Presley, watching Coronation Street, and drinking chocolate milkshakes. She was a big fan of the Montreal Canadians. <br> <br>Most of all, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren. <br> <br>Gale is survived by her husband of 43 years, John; sons, Mark (Kelli), Lucas (Colleen); grandchildren, Alexis, and Georgia; and chosen daughter Jodi (Billy) Heyes. She is also survived by her brother Kevin, and several cousins, nieces and nephews. <br> <br>Visitation will be held from 7-9 pm on Tuesday August 16 in Atlantic Funeral Home, 771 Main Street, Dartmouth. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11am on Wednesday August 17 in St. Thomas More Parish, 15 Caledonia Drive, with visitation prior to mass from 10-11am in the Parish visitation suite. <br> <br>Reception to be held in Atlantic Funeral Home, Oceanview Reception Lounge. <br> <br>Cremation to follow service. Interment to take place in Dartmouth Memorial Gardens. <br> <br>In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Asthma Society, the NS Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation. <br> <br>The family would like to thank Joseph Boudreau and all of the fellow caregivers who provided care to Gale over the past few years. <br> <br>Online condolences may be made by visiting the Dartmouth Chapel at www.atlanticfuneralhomes.com <br> <br></div>
